Knowing firsthand the struggles of being a criminal and doing time in prison, Ken Cooper turned his life over to God in 1982 while incarcerated. Along with his wife, June, they started their original ministry for former prisoners 25 years ago. Currently, he is an advising consultant for crime prevention ministries and supports Kairos Prison Ministry teams. His autobiography, Held Hostage, was released in August, 2009.
"Breaking the Recidivism Cycle through CHRIST." Through the ministries Ken and June Cooper founded and cofounded, over 2,000 sponsored men have stayed out of prison due to a remarkably low recidivism rate of 10%. They've taken evangelism teams to prisons hundreds of times and witnessed thousands of men and women turn their lives over to Christ. The Coopers provide housing for up to ten long-term offenders who did 25+ years in prison.
